NAWP (Newham Asian Women's Project)
To provide emotional support, share experiences with the help of counsellor. NAWP operates from seven sites including an emergency hostel, a second stage hostel and a resource centre. NAWP also offers legal advice, training, mental health support, counseling, Zindaagi - project on self harm, and a young women's support group and other support groups called Teens. Free service, no waiting list. clinical specialisms in self harm, domestic violence.

Newham Young Carers'
Free service with a small waiting list (1-3 months). Practitioners are employed as required for their specialist skills. Once you contact us, we will agree a time to visit you and your family at home. We will not talk to other people about your business unless we have your permission or unless you tell us something which makes us think you are unsafe. We will not make judgements about your life; our job is to offer support for young carers in Newham.

Newmartin Community Youth (NCY) Trust
Three full-time youth workers are supported by a team of volunteers to provide a range of lunch-time and after-school workshops to address incidences of school based anti-social behaviour. The project has also developed peer mentors, supporting the PSHE and citizenship agendas. The project links with Newham’s after-school partnership and will be active in six secondary and three primary schools clustered around the Green Street, Plaistow areas. Free service, with waiting list. Practitioners have training in psychology (BSc), Adavanced Diploma in Counselling - accredited centre, NNEB nursery nurse (distinction), bereavement training, child protection training.

On the Safe Side
Project (Strong Voices) employs one part-time worker and sessional staff who are supported by colleagues from the Police, Youth Offending Team and Newmartin Community Youth Trust (NCYT) to provide practical and advisory support to children who have been victims of crime and who have experienced bullying. The project utilises: restorative justice and builds resilience skills to support the holistic needs of child victims and their parents.

Parenting Support Programme
